About Tranquil Waters
Tranquil Waters was founded to provide an aftercare experience honoring the family members entrusted to our care in an environmentally responsible manner. Our team has years of experience in caring for you and your beloved pets.
Kelly M. Hill, DVM, CHPV has worked as a veterinarian in Maine for over 20 years and founded Haven Veterinary Hospice and Senior Care in 2018. While pursuing a veterinary hospice accreditation, Dr. Hill learned about aquamation as a green alternative to flame cremation.
Dr. Hill and her husband Matt have both been very interested in environmental stewardship throughout their education and careers. They co-founded Tranquil Waters, providing an elevated veterinary aftercare experience to our community and diminishing the environmental impacts upon the earth for future generations.
Tranquil Waters was a natural evolution to Haven Veterinary Hospice and Senior Care. While we have worked with local flame-based crematories for years, we prefer to maintain custody of a families’ beloved pet through the entire process. We believe in elevating aftercare by working with our families to provide a personalized, loving, and respectful experience. We source urns from local artists and Maine craftspeople. We have been working to bring this gentle option to our practice for three years.
We want to minimize our environmental footprint in everything we do.

With a degree in Animal Sciences from the University of New England and prior experience as a veterinary assistant, Jess brings a unique blend of expertise and compassion to our team.
Her deep-rooted connection to animals and families drives her advocacy for personalized aftercare solutions that honor the bond between humans and their beloved pets.
When away from her desk, Jess enjoys unwinding with a good book, hitting the golf course with her partner, and cherishing moments with her companions: her dogs Bauer and Ryder, and her feline friend, Ping.

Cami brings a wealth of expertise to Tranquil Waters as our Memorial Care Specialist. With a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from Saint Joseph's College of Maine, Cami's journey into mortuary care stems from a deep-seated passion for environmental, cultural, and spiritual preservation.
Her dedication to providing care, dignity, and respect to loved ones is evident in every aspect of her work. From her experience in funeral homes to her advocacy for alternative aftercare solutions, Cami ensures that every family entrusted to us receives a compassionate and environmentally responsible experience.
When she's not tending to the needs of others, Cami enjoys immersing herself in literature, exploring the great outdoors, indulging in her love for baking, and cuddling her cat, Poppy.
